Today’s email is different.

I have an ask:

Are you looking for a side hustle that earns passive income?

Yikes – Just writing that sounds scammy.

Let me rephrase it: Do you want me to teach you how I built a website that earns passive income?

Most of you know that I created a website called goodwilloutlets.com.

Every month, it pays me $1500 in passive income (I work on it for about 1 hour a month).

Trailing 8 months of revenue from digital product sales (it's actually missing $1000 b/c I changed my email, and it wiped the history. Total is about $3400)

Out of all the businesses I’ve tried, a niche website is the closest thing to earning passive income on the internet (if you know another way, let me know).

It’s digital real estate.

Now, I’m building my second one.

But this time, I’m recording the entire process and building it live for 12 weeks straight, 1 hour every week.

And I’m inviting you to be a part of it.

I believe building a niche website is the best side hustle because:

  • You learn valuable skills needed to grow a business (Niche research, SEO and website design)
  • It’s cheap to start (startup costs are $200 or less)
  • It’s remote, scalable and requires no fulfillment
  • It often earns 80%+ net profit margins
  • You can easily sell it for 2-3x it’s annual profit
    • i.e. My $1500 website would sell for approximately $36k-$54k)

For the next 12 weeks, I’m exposing everything I’m doing to build this second website, from A-Z.

I’m expecting this second website to earn $1000 a month passively (low end) and $4000 monthly (higher end).

If you’d like to build your own niche website with me, ask questions, or watch the entire process unfold, I’m accepting a small group of students.

There are only 5 slots open.

Two people already joined.

Throughout the 12 weeks, I’ll be showing you how to:

  • Find a profitable niche
  • Build a website with WordPress
  • Drive traffic to your website with basic SEO
  • Monetize your traffic

This is not for people who:

  • Want to make money quickly
  • Don’t have a budget of at least $200
  • Can’t spend at least 3-5 hours a week working on your website for the next 2-3 months

Full disclosure: A niche website takes a lot of work up-front, but becomes passive once it’s established.

If you’re like me, and you enjoy working in sprints, this is a great side project to start.

How David Makes $120 Weekly Doing Consumer Surveys For 3 Hours A Week

Today's side hustle is...

David makes an extra $400-$480 a month doing consumer surveys.

He’s been doing it for three years now and still finds it exciting.

While it’s on the lower end of earning potential compared to our other featured side hustles, this is probably the quickest paying side hustle we’ve ever featured.

Each survey can pay $40 to $60 for an hour and pays in two business days.

Taking consumer surveys also require zero experience or initial capital to start, and can be done if you’re under 18 years of age.

When David travels, he shared that every major city will have in-person survey opportunities. Simply look up “market research facilities” on Google or LinkedIn to find the nearest one in your city.

Why it works

Big brands are testing new products all the time, before they release it in stores.

These brands go to market research companies to collect online and in-person surveys.

That’s where David comes in.

He signs up to be a participant, through companies like Curion and Jackson And Associates, who offer new surveys every week.

David prefers going in-person, but these companies do offer online surveys too.

Each week, David will do taste tests for new products and get paid to share his opinion.

Starting costs

There are no starting costs, just time and transportation (if needed).

Qualifications

Each survey does has specific qualifications. Many of these are centered around age, gender, or ethnicity.

David shared that “from my perspective, I’m Hispanic and I really don’t see many Hispanics go to these surveys. Maybe that’s why I get a lot because for me, I can’t keep up with the flow. Every time I go back to the website and look at their surveys, I can consistently hit two a week.”

Time investment

Each week, David spends about three hours participating in consumer surveys.

With the market research companies he works with, he can’t sign up for another survey if he hasn’t completed a scheduled survey.

Earnings

Typically, David gets compensated between $40 to $60 per hour for each survey.

At three hours a week, he earns $100 to $120 a week on average.
